Howdy,

Unless you have a background in basic accounting, none of them will be easy.

I'd suggest reading a couple of books on business accounting that explain
how it works on paper using ledger sheets. With a picture in your mind of
how the ledger sheets look, then the accounting programs start making more
sense and you are less likely to run into problems.

Thank you for the nice advice, you are very much right.
I will start learning but I need to use something for my business. I
don't want to go to ledger sheets. Can you suggest software that will
do the same job as the ledger sheets something visual and easy to use.

Thank you

Hi Leon

If you are are a bare bones starter with no knowledge of Accounting
then I would recommend Quicken 2000 or later (Not Quickbooks).

Quicken looks like a bank statement from an ordinary checking account
and is already familiar to you.

That will get you into the basics of computerized accounting.

My brief experience with Simply Accounting was RUN. No, I will be
more specific - it did not seem to be very customizable at all. It
also did not seem to be as well supported or put together as Peachtree
or Quickbooks. The lady had gotten it for a cheap price and got a
cheap product. I would never recommend it for more than the simplest
businesses - maybe. Quickbooks, Peachtree, and MYOB seem to be much
easier to get support on. Peachtree for certain has a primer that
comes with it to teach basic accounting. Don't know about the others.

What type of business is it? That might help people make
recommendations.

For the "non accounting" type person, eg. someone NOT trained as a
bookkeeper/accounting technician/accountant, QuickBooks is DEFINITELY easier
to use. But both are just as easy to mess up.
