Sapash, it seems "Chris Gunn" prides himself a little much in knowing
how to do "real accounting." E-accounting is becoming more and more
popular, but like he said, tangible backups and manual accounting is
what you must start with to truly understand all aspects of accounting.
If you're young and have time to grow in the accounting profession,
try to get hands on experience at an established company that can teach
you the process. To answer your question, there is a very high demand
for the accounting profession and there will be for a long time, so
submit a resume on a popular job search website, or network to get an
entry level job through someone you know. There are plenty of people
out there looking for accountants.
Good luck, Adam

2yrs of hand on exp Quickbooks.
Howdy Sapash,
QuickBooks does not understand accounting. All it does is make it easier to
total up the columns. However, it is a disaster if it trashes a data base
and there's no paper backup.
Can you manage all of the accounting needed by a business using nothing but
paper ledgers and understand how it *must* work? If you can't, there isn't
an accounting program anywhere that will do it right for you.
Get an accounting book that is 30 years or older. It will teach you how to
be a real accountant.
