Converting from Quickbooks 2005 to Peachtree 2005 ?!?

Hi,

I am trying to convert from my quickbooks 2005 to peachtree 2005.

To avoid the flames, I will explain why: I love quickbooks, but it
doesn't let me do large build lists, which makes my inventory really
complicated. I build electronics assemblies that have hundreds of
parts. I really need to go to peachtree (premium manufacturing).

Is there any way to do this? I have exported the IIF files, but there's
no way I can find to import them in Peachtree... and there's also no
way to read the 2005 quickbooks file. We upgraded to 2005 near the end
of the year.

I have the support plan with Peachtree (we didn't register this until
this week - sat on it for a year, as the task was too large, and the
inventory issue wasn't killing us yet), but they told me - YOU NEED TO
UPGRADE TO 2006 for 399.00 or 2007 for 499.00.

Is there any other way?

I am not real familiar with Quickbooks, but can you export the
information to text files or to Excel. If you can you can import this
to Peachtree to set up.

You would need a file for
*Chart of accounts
GL Transactions
*Vendor information
AP Transactions
*Customer Setup
AR Transactions
*Inventory Set up

Do the * items first with the chart of accounts first. The key is
getting the information out of Quickbooks. If Quickbooks does not do a
text or Excel export, you can probably use some reports that you print
to file that can be "massaged" to work. It is not difficult, but it
can be tedious.
