Hello,
I need to know how I can find out the name of a BusinessVision
database. The working directory is "C:\BV\OurCompany\", the Company
Name (in BV) is "Our Company Inc.", and my program needs to send data
to BV. The problem is I don't know how to find the name (as Pervasive
sees it) of the database for Our Company Inc.

I thought the default name for a database used by BV was the same as
the company name, but when my application tries to connect to that
database ("Our Company Inc.", in the example above), an error is
returned saying no database with that name exists.

I've also noticed that when a new company is created in BV, it does not

show up in the Pervasive Control Centre.

Is there a simple way to determine the database name that BV is using?
Bear in mind that I am supporting my client through this over the
phone, and cannot get on site.

Thanks in advance.

(I also cross-posted in alt.accounting, sorry if some of you see this
twice).

In windows XP, Click Start, settings, control panel, administrative tools,
ODBC data sources. Then Click the system DSN tab and look for Pervasive.
If "Pervasive control center is installed, you can click Start, Programs,
Pervasive, And look for control center. Click it. Click all the + signs to
expand everything, and your database should be there.
