Ownership of an LLC - can your name be hidden from public view

I am forming an LLC shortly with several other partners. Is there a
way to hide ownership of the LLC from the "public" view. In other
words, can we set this up to protect ourselves from people knowing who
the partners are (other than the IRS of course)? One of our group
really needs to keep his name out of the public record until the
company is well-established. His FORMER employer has no contract or
non-compete with him, but is a vindictive kind of person who would sue
just for fun and harassment (and he's got the deep pockets to do it).

Thanks for any assistance with this question.

Howdy,

I don't believe there is a practical/legal way to do this.

I would suggest keeping the whole thing as a private company with signed and
notorized contracts between the partners.

Please consult with a knowledgeable attorney and a CPA on these issues
before you proceed.

Thanks, Chris www.bizynet.com and www.bizycart.com

You can hide the names of partners that you will do your partnership
with especially depending on the kinds of partners you will have in
the partnership. Eg. Active partner, ostensible partner, silent
partner, secret partner, dormant partner and sub partners and limited
partners. You can also pay to have the partners of the company names
hidden.

Best if you discuss this with your accountant or a corporate lawyer,
it will worth it.

Thanks.

Sorry i thought you were forming a partnership and not an LLC. You
can do it by paying for this.

Thanks.
